Entering its 15th summer, Legends Camp for Legendary Girls is a transformative, arts-based leadership and healing experience founded in 2012 by Shayna Yvonne Rudd. What began as a summer program has evolved into a multigenerational institution rooted in creativity, care, discipline, and cultural power.
Legends Camp is an 8-week immersive experience that intentionally integrates:
performing arts and cultural expression
leadership development and confidence building
social-emotional learning and mental health support
mentorship grounded in identity, community, and care
Throughout the summer, scholars are guided by professional artists, educators, and clinicians in an environment where girls are encouraged to explore their voices, strengthen their leadership, and develop the emotional tools needed to thrive—on and off the stage.
Each season culminates in a full-scale original production, where students perform for the community while challenging audiences to engage social issues through art, storytelling, and collective healing. These productions are not simply performances—they are calls to reflection, growth, and action.
Legends Camp serves girls ages 4–17 and welcomes scholars at every stage of artistic and personal development. Whether a child is discovering her voice for the first time or refining her leadership and performance skills, Legends Camp meets her with excellence, intention, and deep care.

Legends Camp is more than a summer program.
It is a rite of passage.
A legacy space.
A place where girls learn who they are—and who they are becoming.
